We need your help to launch In Other Words, a beautiful collection of stories by autistic authors
Between November 2016 and April 2017, eight participants took part in Square Peg Stories, a creative writing opportunity for autistic adults. They each produced an original short story, with mentoring from a wonderful team of published authors. Now, we're thrilled to announce that the anthology will be published by Unbound - but we need your help to make it happen!
In Other Words is beautiful, hilarious, heart-breaking, mind-bending and above all it showcases the enormous talent of a group of people who are often stereotyped as being rigid and uncreative. It has an introduction by autistic writer and poet Joanne Limburg, and a foreword by the novelist David Mitchell.
Unbound is a crowdfunding publisher. You pledge for your copy of the book in advance, and once we reach our target, a beautiful, limited-edition copy of the book is shipped directly to your door, with your name in the back. It's a fabulous way of getting new, exciting and unheard voices onto people's shelves. You can also pledge for different levels of exciting goodies, including original prints and poems by autistic artists.
Click the button below (or the one above!) to go to our funding page, where you can find out more about the project, see a video of some of the writers reading their work and read an extract. We'd be so grateful if you could support In Other Words by pledging for a copy. The book can't happen without your support, and we feel strongly that it does need to happen.
If you aren't able to pledge, then please do spread the word on social media and pass the news on to friends, family and anyone else you think would like to make the literary world a bit more diverse!
