Square Peg Stories is an exciting opportunity for eight participants with Autistic Spectrum Condition to attend creative writing workshops and be mentored by industry leaders. Over the course of the project each participant writes a short story for inclusion in an anthology.

Between November 2016 and February 2017, participants took part in six creative writing workshops and two one-to-one mentoring days led by published authors. Each participant had a mentor, and in between workshops worked on a piece of short fiction with support from their mentor.

Now, we're thrilled to announce that those stories will be published by Unbound - but we need your help to make the anthology happen!

In Other Words is beautiful, hilarious, heart-breaking, mind-bending and above all it showcases the enormous talent of a group of people who are often stereotyped as being rigid and uncreative. It has an introduction by autistic writer and poet Joanne Limburg, and a foreword by the novelist David Mitchell.

Unbound is a crowdfunding publisher. You pledge for your copy of the anthology in advance, and once we reach our target, a beautiful, limited-edition copy of the book is shipped directly to your door, with your name in the back. It's a fabulous way of getting new, exciting and unheard voices onto people's shelves.  You can also pledge for different levels of exciting goodies, including original prints and poems by autistic artists.

Click the button below to go to our funding page, where you can find out more about the project, see a video of some of the writers reading their work and read an extract. We'd be so grateful if you could support In Other Words by pledging for a copy. The book can't happen without your support, and we feel strongly that it does need to happen.

If you aren't able to pledge, then please do spread the word on social media and pass the news on to friends, family and anyone else you think would like to make the literary world a bit more diverse!
